TIMES: Collection on Sunday's and Thursday's

LOCATION: Calvary Chapel South Orlando

greatest privileges here at Calvary Chapel is reaching out to the lost and needy people of the world. So bring on the shoe boxes!

Operation Christmas Child has been a favorite among our people. As part of the ministry of Samaritan's Purse, run by Franklin Graham, Operation Christmas Child was started as a means to bring joy, hope and the message of salvation to children in especially desperate situations around the world. This is done by filling shoe boxes with toys, treats and other gifts for them at Christmas. Each box is accompanied with an illustrated Bible story booklet in their own language, and some areas even provide a follow-up discipleship program.

And the best gift of all? Every third child who receive a shoebox gets saved!!

In the words of Franklin Graham, "These gift-filled shoe boxes provide local churches around the globe with one of the most effective tools for evangelism I've ever seen... God is using your gifts to open doors, break down barriers and advance the Gospel even in regions where Christians are persecuted and live in fear."

Here's How to Get Started:

Once the boxes have been filled and collected, they will be sent to children in India and possibly Africa. You can also use shoe boxes from home and can fill as many boxes as you'd like. Be sure to pick up a flier that includes mailing labels and a list of what can and cannot be included. Next, have fun filling your box with toys, hygiene items and other items listed in the flier! As always - no liquids or foods, except hard candy, and both candy and soap need to be in a separate Ziploc bags.

Attach the label and enclose a donation of $7 per box to help with shipping and project costs. Then pray that God will reveal His love to that child and his or her family in a life-changing way. If you'd like to follow your box to it's final destination you can do so by making your donation for shipping online at www.samaritanspurse.org/ezgive.
Boxes can be turned in to Calvary Chapel South Orlando, before or after services, through November 21st. Extended collection hours are available during the week when doors are open for midweek services.

Got more goodies than your box will hold? No worries! You can also donate your extra items to the processing center to be used as filler for boxes that can hold a little more. Just bring them with your shoe box and we'll be sure they get included!
This is a great way for parents to teach children what a joy it is to share with those in need. For more information about Samaritan's Purse, check out their website at www.samaritanspurse.org. For collection information call Jessica at 407.738.2815 or email her at jlslater99@yahoo.com
