Water Baptism

Water baptism is something that Christians outwardly do in order to show what God has inwardly done. It is a symbolic way, chosen by God, for us to publicly identify with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus Christ gives new life to all who place their faith in Him. And in this process, there is a death to the former self, and a new resurrected life that follows. By our baptism, we are telling the world that we have been united to Jesus Christ, and, because of that fact, we are new people on the inside who have died to the ways of sin and have become alive to God and His ways of righteousness.

(2 Corinthians 5:17) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

(Colossians 2:12) "For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead."
